This year, by joining a local Home & Away tournament hosted by Branches of Hope, a local charity, we honoured to have been able to help raise awareness and funds for refugees, asylum seekers and human trafficking survivors in Hong Kong!

The "Home & Away" football tournament, hosted by Branches of Hope, a local charity in Hong Kong, aimed to raise awareness and funds for refugees, asylum-seekers, and survivors of human trafficking. It emphasized the challenges faced by those separated from their families while fostering hope and community support. The event served as a platform for marginalized individuals to enjoy football, build genuine friendships, and promote social integration.

By participating in this tournament, we sought to raise awareness about this global issue. Proceeds, after administrative costs, supported initiatives for the most vulnerable communities in Hong Kong. Our Executive team decided to join this competition to contribute by fundraising through our crowdfunding page and creating our own fundraising page.

Our team, consisting of 11 players who formed a 7-player squad, included members from the Hong Kong Representative Under-16 Women’s Football team and various U-18 club teams. Participants aged 14 to 16 represented clubs such as United Citizen, Kitchee, and Hong Kong Football Club. This experience allowed us to have fun while focusing on raising awareness for refugees, asylum-seekers, and survivors of human trafficking through an enjoyable tournament.

15 year-old DribbleToDream member Meadow Tang from Kitchee reflected on this amazing experience, "I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this charity soccer tournament, it allowed me to learn about the ongoing challenges faced by refugees and the importance of supporting them. I'm glad we stumbled upon this event, as it helped me gain valuable insights into their struggles and the impact we can make together"

We proudly brought home the Women's Championship Cup after defeating Shum Shui Po club 2-0.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Branches of Hope for organizing this incredible event. Their commitment to supporting marginalized communities and providing us with this platform not only enriched our experience but also allowed us to make a meaningful impact. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an important cause and look forward to continuing our support in the future.
